Shira Tal

Shira is the lab manager of the Language Learning and Processing Lab. She has a B.A. degree in Cognitive Science and Philosophy and a M.A. degree in Cognitive Science, both from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Shira is interested in bringing questions of typology and diachronic-linguistics into the lab. Namely, investigating the means by which certain cognitive and conversational constraints can explain the common patterns of linguistic change, and therefore, the resulted structural properties that different languages share.

Ori Lavi-Rotbain

Manager of the "Living Lab". Ori has a B.Sc in the program of psychobiology from the Hebrew university of Jerusalem (with distinction) and is currently a Ph.D. student in the Edmond and Lily Safra center for brain sciences. She is interested in studying language acquisition using information theory properties. She is looking at the information structure of child-directed speech and its relation to learning; the differences between child- and adult-directed speech from information theory perspective and how information properties can affect second language learning.
